The Valley Pottery Association aims to provide an affordable place for people to explore and make their own pottery in the Wasilla/Palmer area. The studio is owned and furnished by Matthew Van Atta. He is a young engineer who found more satisfaction in teaching and working with clay.

Flower of LifeClasses, Winter-Spring 2016

The first classes will start in January 18-21 and go to March 14-17
Class time will be 7 to 9 pm. Daytime classes will be offered if requested.
All current classes are taught by Matthew

Beginning hand building class
Tuesday, 7-9 pm, January 19- March 15
8 weeks of instruction and a celebratory week. Class covers the fundamental methods of clay construction and glazing techniques. Materials and 3-month membership are included in the class fee. Space is limited to about 12 students. Cost $220.

Once a week Wheel class
Thursday, 7-9 pm, January 21-March 17
Suitable for all levels. 8 weeks of instruction and a celebratory week. Materials and 3-month membership are included in class fee. Space is limited to the number of wheels. Cost $250.

Twice a week Wheel class
Monday and Wednesday, 7-9 pm, January 18-March 14
8 weeks of instruction and a celebratory week. Beginners are welcome. Intermediate/advanced students would given more focused instruction. Materials and 3-month membership are included in class fee. Space is limited to the number of wheels. Cost $440.

Membership Fees
Membership will available starting January 15, 2016.

Includes full studio access when myself or a volunteer is present. A limited amount of storage for projects and tools is available
Currently the studio is open most evenings and weekends. Materials and firing costs are not included.
$100 for 3 months, $190 for 6 months, and $360 for a full year.
